Mundaring forms the northern terminus of the Munda Biddi Trail. Located 30 kilometres north-east out of the city of Public TransportTransperth buses stop at the Mundaring Tourist Centre. The closest train station to the north end of the Trail is Midland at the foot of the hills, which is approximately 15 kilometres away. Contact Transperth (Perth Metropolitan Bus and Rail - call 13 62 13 or www.transperth.wa.gov.au ). Then from Midland to Mundaring, the most direct route is via the Great Eastern Highway. Alternatively, cyclists can take the Railway Heritage Trail by following Great Eastern Highway for about 1.4 kilometres until Miller Street, then joining the Railway Trail as it crosses the highway. This takes you up into the hills to the Northern Terminus of the Munda Biddi Trail in Sculpture Park. (See town map - p20). Alternative AccessYou can also join the Trail at Pickering Brook or Carinyah campsite. Catch the train to Kelmscott Station and take the Brookton Highway, but beware of trucks, or take Canning Mills Road to Canning Road where you can either take it north to Pickering Brook or south to O’Meagher, Illawarra and Dale roads to link to the Trail and the Carinyah campsite.
