The most convenient way to get to the Trail is with your own vehicle or to have someone drop you off. Vehicle access points are marked with a red car on the Munda Biddi maps. You can do an out-and-back trip or arrange to leave a car at either end of your ride. Vehicles are not permitted on roads in Dieback Disease areas which are clearly marked on the maps.

Private Transport option

Transfers to the Trail for up to 5 bikes plus their riders can be arranged through BCT Transfers. Also through a partnership with About Bike Hire you can now hire your bikes and have them and yourself transported to the Trail. Click here for further information.  

Metropolitan

Unfortunately at this time, public transport options to the Trail are limited. Links to the Trail can be provided by the Midland train station (via the Railway Heritage Trail to Mundaring)* and the Kelmscott train station (for joining near Carinyah campsite) but they involve some riding before you reach the Trail. Check with Transperth 13 62 13 for timetable options. During peak hours (7-9am and 4-6pm) bikes are only allowed to go counter to peak flow and are not allowed in the main Perth City station.

Getting to and from the country

The main tourist areas, usually coastal, have a reasonable coverage by bus or train but smaller communities have limited or no public transport. This is the case for Jarrahdale and Dwellingup, although it is a downhill ride to the South West Highway from both towns and a booking for transport from Mundijong or Pinjarra is easier to negotiate using Transwa 1300 662 205. The Australind train (Perth – Bunbury) will transport pre-booked bikes under certain conditions and providing loading (and unloading) only occurs at Perth or Bunbury stations. Space is limited and a fee is incurred for their transport.

Southwest Coach Lines (08) 9324 2333 has bus services between Perth and Collie, via coastal towns and does transport bicycles.
