On the banks of the Blackwood River, the beautiful Nannup townsite is home to fewer than 1000 people. A great place to find out what there is to do in this quaint little town is the Nannup Visitor Centre (the Trail passes it). The town has shopping facilities, a gemstone museum, cafes and accommodation and, often known as the Garden Village, its beautiful private and public gardens are a great way to experience the wildflowers. In August the town is ablaze with colour from blooming tulips and daffodils. The Nannup Music Festival, which is held over the Labour Day long weekend in March each year, includes street performance, market stalls and a variety of musical performances.

Town History

Nannup was officially gazetted in 1890 with the main industries being timber and agriculture. These industries continue into the present day with a recent diversification into tourism and viticulture.
