4 weekends riding in the Shire of Nannup

The Bikepacking Essentials Series (TBES) is aimed at novice-to-intermediate MTB and gravel riders who want to have a bikepacking adventure involving an overnight trip. An End-to-end on the Munda Biddi Trail is a bucket list item, and we have assembled a great series of practical clinics to get you prepared.

The goal of TBES is for novice-to-intermediate riders to develop the skills to undertake overnight or multi-day rides on the Trail. By the end of the series, you will feel confident enough to get out and explore the Munda Biddi, or other green-rated MTB trails and unsealed gravel roads.

You will develop the ability to break down the multiple components of riding the Munda Biddi (bike, fitness, gear, packing, logistics) into manageable tasks that will allow you to ride the whole trail, over time. Each stage will provide you with the  knowledge to get out and explore the Munda Biddi Trail, your local gravel roads or MTB trails on your own adventure.

We have two online stages (Feb 2nd and June 1st 2023) plus...

    • Stage 2 - Gear and Logistics workshop and rides - Feb 10-12, Nannup
    • Stage 3 - Mechanics Course workshop and rides - Mar 31-Apr 2, Nannup
    • Stage 4 - Off-road Skills Course - Apr 21-23, Donnelly River Village
    • Stage 5 - Overnighter - May 27-28, Nannup to Karta Burnu Campsite return

      Our informative workshops and rides will be facilitated by a variety of experts, MBTF staff and volunteers. It can't all be study, there will be plenty of time for socialising, eating and drinking too! We hope that participants will form riding networks to support each other and get out together between the stages too.

      To participate, you must;

      • exercise at least once a week for more than 45 minutes
      • have a basic level of bike handling ability
      • possess the physical fitness to ride at a relaxed pace, with stops, for one hour (off road), or two hours on sealed roads.
      • You can tackle one or two climbs of up to 200m per day with little or no walking
      We've put together a FAQ page to hopefully answer most queries.

        If you are not confident riding a bike, this series is not suitable for you.
